Terri is the Staff Attorney for the Beyond Guilt Project. Before coming to OJPC in May 2025, Terri spent three years working as a staff attorney at The Ohio State University, Michael E. Moritz College of Law. There, she represented clients in the Ohio Governor’s Expedited Pardon Project and assisted clients with record relief through Opportunity Port Digital Record Sealing and Expungement Service. Terri has also previously worked as an attorney at the Office of the Ohio Public Defender, Youth Defense Department, representing clients for their parole hearings made possible by the passage of Ohio Senate Bill 256.
While in law school, Terri worked as a volunteer, extern, and summer intern at the Ohio Justice & Policy Center, primarily on the Beyond Guilt Project, advocating for release for people who had been over-sentenced.
During the summer after her first year of law school, Terri was an intern at Community Refugee and Immigration Services (CRIS) in Columbus, Ohio, where she assisted in immigration and asylum work.
Terri earned her J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and a B.A. in Spanish Language and Literature, with a minor in Linguistics, from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. She also spent one semester each studying Linguistics and Mental Health Counseling at the graduate level at Ohio University, and uses skills gained from those experiences to strengthen her communication and client interaction skills.
Terri is passionate about working toward a more humane, equitable, and restorative system to deal with harm. She is curious about the role of love in our public systems and social movements and likes to explore the power of human relationships and connections in growth and transformation. Her interests include collateral consequences, record relief, re-entry, and restorative and transformative justice.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, visiting bookshops/cafes/art museums/botanical gardens, walking in nature, caring for her houseplants, and hanging out with her family.
