Voss is a gifted artist who is serving time at the Dayton Correctional Institution. Her inspiration for this piece comes in the form of Pat Wernert, the longest imprisoned woman in the State of Ohio. Pat Wernert, described as a kind and gentle woman, is currently serving a life sentence and has been incarcerated for more than 45 years. This piece has contraband materials to show the actual dehumanization of the state uniform.
